METAL Joins Forces with UK Steel Enterprise
18 June 2019
The METAL Project recently teamed up with UK Steel Enterprise (UKSE) by holding the South East session of the Innovation & Skills Roadshow at its fantastic Ebbw Vale Innovation Centre.
The roadshows provided an opportunity to showcase to industry attendees the support available for the manufacturing sector across Wales, with presentations from Swansea University projects METaL, ASTUTE 2020 and M2A.
UKSE are a regeneration subsidiary of Tata Steel, who focus on those parts of the UK which have been affected by changes in the steel industry.
They invest directly into growing businesses, providing equity investment and loan finance and have high quality, serviced offices and workshops located in Cardiff and Ebbw Vale and several other locations across the UK.
Martin Palmer – Regional Executive for UKSE said, “It was great to host the roadshow with Swansea University and the METaL Project at our Innovation Centre, located on the site of the old Ebbw Vale Steel Works. The roadshow really demonstrated the support on offer to manufacturing businesses across Wales and this support directly compliments the objectives of UKSE, where, as the regeneration subsidiary of Tata Steel, we look at ways we can help businesses in those parts of the UK which have been affected by changes to the local steel industry.”
“UKSE can offer financial support to businesses that have a capable and committed management with a clear strategy for expansion and growth. Our funding packages can range from £25k to £1m and are usually by way of a loan or a mixed share capital & loan package.
Dr Khalil Khan, METaL Project Manager said, “It is great to be able to work with UKSE who offer some fantastic opportunities for Welsh businesses.”
