Support for Industry from Welsh Automotive Forum and Aerospace Wales Forum
5 May 2020
In these strange days of lockdown, where there is so much information from so many different sources it can be difficult for individuals and businesses to decipher the data and guidelines required to make decisions for both their personal circumstances and their workplaces.
The forums provide clear, concise and regular email updates for their members, which include information on the job retention scheme – how to make a claim, UK Governments bounce back loan scheme for small businesses and updates from DWP for employers and employees.
The forums have also been conducting surveys of their members and feeding back concerns to Government. The surveys include responses on how many business are applying for Government schemes, what sort of experiences have they had in the application process and the concerns they have about restarting their businesses.
Finally both forums have been sharing details of suppliers who may be able to produce and distribute products to help workers comply with the 2m distancing rules, and businesses who can supply PPE for the workforce.
As we all try and support family, friends and work colleagues through this pandemic, it is also worth noting there are a number of organisations that are actively supporting us professionally. This is not ‘business as usual’ for anyone, but both the Welsh Automotive Forum, and Aerospace Wales Forum are offering expert help and advice so all we come through this pandemic safe, well and with jobs and businesses still functioning.
